- How to do it
- Let the shoulders slide down away from the ears. Lightly draw the shoulder blades down the back. Don’t force the chest forward.

- Pinching the neck or forcing the chest forward.
- Make it easier
- Shrug only halfway.
- Avoid this movement if
- Shrugging causes sharp neck pain.

- Exaggerating the shrug, then letting go, makes it easier to notice when the shoulders are creeping up during work.
Stop this movement if it causes sharp or worsening pain, numbness, weakness or dizziness.
